United Kingdom Visa Application Process Updated: Transition from TLS Contact to VFS Global

Starting November 5, 2024, the process for UK visa applications has undergone a major change for those planning to visit the United Kingdom. As of this date, visa applications from Turkey will be processed through VFS Global instead of TLS Contact, meaning applicants will now be assisted at VFS Global application centers.

Visa Application Process

The application process follows these steps:

Completing the Application Form

The first step is to fill out the UK visa application form online at gov.uk.

After completing the form, applicants are directed to the VFS Global website.

Submitting or Uploading Documents

Once the form is completed, applicants choose a date and service type from the online appointment calendar. There is a fee for the appointment, and if you prefer to submit documents in person, an additional fee applies. If you choose the self-service option for online document uploads, this is free, allowing you to upload required documents directly to the VFS Global system.

Appointments and Biometric Data

With your appointment confirmed, you’ll visit a VFS Global application center on the scheduled date to provide biometric data, including fingerprints and photographs.

Submitting the Application

After biometric data and documents are collected, VFS Global forwards your application to the UK Visas and Immigration Office. Your passport and documents will be securely returned to you once processing is complete.

Application centers are located in five cities across Turkey:

• Antalya

• Istanbul

What to Bring to the Application Center

When visiting a VFS Global center, ensure you have the following documents to complete your application smoothly:

• Appointment Confirmation

• Valid Passport or Travel Document

  Bring a valid passport or travel document with at least one blank page. Your passport should be valid for at least six months from the date of application.

• Online Application Form and Checklist

  Be sure to print the document checklist from the online application on GOV.UK. This list includes all required documents, ensuring your application is complete. (This is especially important for assistance service appointments.)

Additional Fees and Services

Some VFS Global services incur extra fees. In cities like Adana, Antalya, and Izmir, applicants may pay an additional £76.50 to secure an appointment at a more convenient location. This fee is set by the Home Office and helps applicants choose the most suitable center.

If you already have an appointment scheduled with TLS for November, your data will be transferred to the VFS Global system. For assistance, TLS Contact customer service will remain open until December 25.
